News
Plant Sales:

MayFair Plant Sale at Wegerzyn:
This fundraiser and educational event opens the gardening season and the weekend begins on Friday evening with a members-only preview, offering Foundation members first pick of the wide variety of hard-to-find annuals and perennials, herbs, gourmet vegetables and ornamental grasses.

Wildflower Sale at Cox:
Browse the selection of native wildflowers and get advice from the Wildflower Group on which plants are well-suited for your garden. All of the wildflowers offered in this sale are ethically propagated or rescued from construction zones by the volunteer Wildflower Group at Cox Arboretum MetroPark. Native trees and shrubs will also be available at this year's sale. Foundation members are invited to preview from 10-11 a.m.

EarthWise Celebration
The fourth week of April is a big one at Cox Arboretum MetroPark. Festivities are planned to celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day, two holidays with roots in environmentalism. Environmentalism and sustainability are growing themes in gardening, nature, horticulture, and educational programs offered at the arboretum, not only because of their importance to the MetroParks mission, but also because of public interest in the topics.

The staff has planned a weeklong celebration where area residents can combine their loves for gardening and the planet. The celebration is targeted at adults of all ages and mobility. It will offer a wide range of speakers and educational sessions in the arboretum’s education center, as well as a trip to the Cincinnati Flower Show, tours of the spring color within the arboretum, and even a Wildflower Sale. For children, there will be the Adopt-a-Park, Arbor Day Adventure, and garden tours.
