Coming October 4, 2008 – Eastwood MetroPark
Last year, approximately 9,000 outdoor enthusiasts flooded the streets near the
National City Second Street Market in Dayton, Ohio to celebrate the great outdoors
and hang out in the emerging adventure capital of the Midwest. The celebration brought
all aspects of the outdoor community together from enthusiasts, retailers and pros
to musicians, clubs and advocacy associations. It was the event to learn everything
GEAR from discounted items to how and where to use the lastest and hottest items
on the market. For those more into retro gear, folks could browse the consigment
area to find that hidden gem.
Activities were a plenty. Gear Fest offered a climbing wall and high ropes challenge
for those willing to test their skills and check out Gear Fest from a bird’s eye
view. Not to mention, we had pros from the kayak and mountain bike ranks on-site
entertaining guests with the sickest tricks. Mixed in with all the GEAR was a great
lineup of live music including The Betweeners, Eric Jerardi Band and Shrug. All
three bands proved to be crowd pleasers and offered a variety of music for guests.

Exhibitor Information
Five Rivers Outdoors has a history of partnering with local and regional outdoor
organizations, retailers and clubs. Gear Fest is no exception. Like all Five Rivers
Outdoor efforts, Gear Fest was created to help connect people to the outdoors by
providing information regarding access, gear and technical advice in an environment
that will not intimidate Gear Fest visitors. We hope this environment will inspire
citizens to explore the outdoor world in a manner comfortable to each individual.
We invite all local retailers, clubs, organizations and enthusiasts to be a part
of our efforts as we see all of you as an important link to a healthy outdoor community.
To that end, we hope that Gear Fest will become a gateway for interaction between
outdoor enthusiasts, clubs, organizations and retailers encouraging all citizens
to "Get Out and Live". We invite all members of the outdoor business community to
promote their activities, provide on-site demos and clinics and of course bring
all the GEAR YOU CAN. Five Rivers Outdoors staff is available to support with any
on-site needs.
