Warblers and other neo-tropical migrants are moving north to claim their nesting territories. Bring binoculars to view these colorful birds. Program begins at 9:00 AM. Meet in Patty Shelter parking lot. Reservations are not necessary.

Backpacking Babies: Plant Life

Explore trees, shrubs, and wildflowers as we hike through the forest celebrating plant life. Babies will feel and smell a variety of aromas from leaves while appreciating the vibrant colors and shapes of wildflowers. A baby backpack or snugli is required as trails are not stroller friendly. Program begins at 10 AM. Meet at parking lot. No reservations required.

Home School Nature Club: Birding

Witness spring migration at its peak as we search for extraordinarily colorful birds! Scarlet Tanagers, Yellow-throated Warblers, Cerulean Warblers, and Indigo Buntings are just a few birds that call Sugarcreek home. Parent and Preschooler: Buds & Bugs

Use facepaint to transform your preschooler into a bee, bug, or butterfly. We will pretend to be nature's pollinators, exploring flower to flower, and discovering the relationships that flowers have with bugs. Program begins at 10 AM. Meet at parking lot. Passport to Nature
Travel Through Your MetroParks and Discover Nature and Fun!
 
How it Works

Visit MetroParks facilities, participate in designated passport programs and get your passport stamped. When eight of the boxes are stamped, fill in the requested information and mail your passport to MetroParks.


What to Look For

Look for Passport to Nature symbol or the text Passport to Nature in Metro ParkWays or in the Calendar of Events on the website.


What You Get

Every child who completes a passport with eight stamps will become an official MetroParks Nature Traveler and will receive a nature traveler backpack, along with recognition in Parkways. Nature Travelers who complete additional passports will get gear to put in their backpack for nature exploration.
