Nate Arnett

Adventure Central Director & Extension Educator

My experience with youth and environmental education programs begins with my first job as a cook at a residential camp as a junior in high school and has included working at a YMCA, an environmental education center, as a regional 4-H youth development professional in Missouri, as the Program Director for Adventure Central, and most recently in the role of Adventure Central Director. A significant amount of my programming energy has been directed towards teen programs, especially in the area of workforce preparation, as well as staff and volunteer development. I enjoy working with the diverse team of professionals that make up the core of the Adventure Central “family” and seeing positive impacts in the lives of the youth that we serve.

I have a wife and two wonderful sons who provide me great support and keep me learning new things daily.

Charles Burks

Program Coordinator

I began my career working with children as a Youth Advisor with MCCAA in the 1970s, and have worked in a variety of roles since then. I first became in involved with Adventure Central because of my association with the Partnership for Youth.

In addition to my work, I also am very active in my church. I enjoy conducting parenting workshops with my wife, working in my yard, and gardening.

Gloria Huggins

Program Assistant

I have been involved with Adventure Central since 2001 as an apprentice working with the Day Camp. I enjoyed myself so much that I volunteered for the after school program and the rest is history. I am now a official member of the Adventure Central staff as a program assistant. I have worked for the Dayton Public School system in many capacities; my last position being an intervention specialist at Fairview Elementary school. I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and bowling.
